Ramair at Autosport 2020

Ramair at Autosport 2020

Published by Davy Lewis on 25th Oct 2020

It’s that time of year again when the NEC throws open its doors to the great and the good from the world of racing and performance cars. So while part of the team were in Japan for the Tokyo Auto Salon (we’re not jealous, honest!), we headed to a chilly Birmingham to check out the show.

If you’re into motor sport, then Autosport will be right up your street. Although there was no official WRC presence this year, the big hitters from F1, BTCC and other championships were all present.

Our friends at Cobra Sport Exhausts and AmD Racing unveiled their new BTCC car for the 2020 season – a Honda Civic. This aggressive looking Type-R will be driven by Sam Osbourne and Jake Hill as the team challenge for the title. We were especially pleased to see some Ramair logos taking pride of place at the front of the car.

Sticking with motorsport, one of the best displays had to be the BGD Motorsport stand which boasted many rallying legends from days gone by. The collection included Colin McRae’s Impreza, a Lancia 037, a Ford RS200, Escort 1700i and a super-cool Fiat 131.

Heading into the Performance Car Show, which is an integral part of the event, we were greeted by some serious money cars. There were Lamborghinis and Ferraris as far as you could see, but it was the Kream Developments stand that really stopped us in our tracks.

A wrapped Veyron sat with a matching Mercedes-AMG G-Wagon 6x6 – the first time we’ve seen one of thee monsters in the metal.  Add to this numerous Huracans, Nissan GT-Rs, Porsches and it really was a site to behold. Ok, some of the upgrades may not be to everyone’s taste, but it certainly drew the crowds.

Our friends at Milltek were showcasing a Tesla Model 3 running their new sound generation kit and sat next to it was the bright orange Fiesta ST Mk8 that we recently had in for development work. This high-quality heat shield induction kit delivers increased air flow along with an aggressive induction sound to really complement the ST. It will be available to order soon – keep your eyes on our social media for details.
