Ramair Golf TCR ready to race

Following extensive testing on track, the Ramair TCR Golf is ready to compete in its first race of the season – and we cannot wait!
Since we first showed you images of the ‘naked’ race car, the Golf has been treated to a new livery, which we think looks stunning.
We caught up with Ramair's very own Jamie Sturges as he put the Golf through it spaces during the latest test day at Castle Combe.
Kicking off at 8am, the team set to work preparing the car for some hot laps of the fast, Wiltshire circuit. Having been recently acquired, the Golf would require setting up for Jamie’s preferred driving style, to ensure he's able to extract every last bit of performance from it.
With motorsport, it’s all about making small adjustments to see how they affect lap times – from simple tyre pressures, through to full geometry changes – so today was all about trying things out. The aim: to ensure that the car is doing exactly what the driver requires from it come race day.
Each session on track was followed by a sit down with the team mechanics. Jamie talked through how the car was behaving and analysed the laptop data, to see where improvements could be made and lap times improved.
By early afternoon, the lap times were indeed falling and Jamie was feeling more confident behind the wheel. Watching him throw it into the testing Camp corner, before nailing the apex and powering out the other side, it’s clear the Golf TCR is going to be a real contender in his capable hands.
Having really got to grips with the Golf, Jamie is looking forward to his first race, this weekend at Castle Combe. Look out for a full report.
